Historic Mabry Mill

Photo of historic Mabry Mill - Floyd County, Va.

I featured historic Mabry Mill as a "Picture of the Day" a few years back, but this recent shot by photographer Peter DePasquale is so much better that I decided that I simply had to feature it yet again.

Mabry Mill is located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway near milepost 176 in rural Floyd County, Virginia. It served as a well-used grist mill from 1910 to 1935, but since then it has become famous the world over thanks its status as the most photographed structure along the entire 469 mile length of the Parkway.

If you ever find yourself taking "America's most scenic drive", be sure to stop in and check out this wonderful place. After all, a visit to historic Mabry Mill is like taking a step back in time.
