Sunset at Madeira Island

A spectacular sunrise always helps get a busy day off to a good start while a glorious sunset soothes the weary soul when it's all over! I rarely get to see both of them in the same day, but when I do I feel like I have been truly blessed by the Lord! These most special times of the day are magnificent regardless of where you might happen to be, but they are especially beautiful when seen over the open water. Today's stunning image by photographer Samuel Rosa features a picture-postcard sunset on the Portuguese island of Madeira, one of the world's most enticing vacation spots. Looking at this amazing picture, I can just imagine relaxing on a lounge chair beneath those palm fronds as the gentle ocean breeze blows away the cares of my day. As the sun begins to slip below the horizon, I can feel the comforting hand of the Creator on my shoulder as we both watch one of His most magnificent "shows" play out right before our very eyes. Then, as the day comes to an end, my troubles fade away right along with the last rays of that golden light.
