Sunset over Funchal, Madeira

Back in October I featured
a spectacular sunset on Portugal's
Madeira Island, and although I try not to "repeat myself"
too often,
after seeing this one I simply had to feature it as well. With
vistas like this, is it any wonder that Madeira is one of Europe's
most popular vacation getaways?
Madeira Island is actually one of a number of islands that make up the Madeira
Archipelago, but only two of them are permanently inhabited. The
capitol city of
Funchal has a rich history dating back many centuries, and today
it is home to over 100,000 lucky people who are privileged to see
scenes like this on a regular basis.
The photographer who captured this stunning image wishes to remain
anonymous, and I always honor that request. Many thanks to him for
sending it my way! Keep 'em coming!
