Madison's first birthday

Photo by Cheria Rouse. Well, it's hard to believe but that little bundle of joy we call Madison celebrated her very first birthday yesterday! We had quite a turnout for her birthday party, and everyone in attendance had a great time helping her enjoy her big day. Of course there was a huge birthday cake for all of us "guests" to enjoy, but the birthday girl was presented with a small one that belonged just to her. Of course she decided that she didn't need any eating utensils, and her hands did a mighty fine job at mangling the cake and getting more of it on her face than in her tummy. After talking amongst ourselves for a while and playing with the girl of honor, we all sat down to watch Madison open her gifts. One by one she opened her presents (with lots of help from her mommy), and in typical toddler fashion she was much more interested in the colorful birthday cards and wrapping paper than the presents themselves! It turned out to be a fun evening for everyone, especially little Madison. She has now been with us for an entire year, and I hope she gets to celebrate a lot more birthdays in the future. She's beautiful, she's smart, and she's my granddaughter - what more could a happy grandpa ask for? Happy Birthday Madison - Granny and I love you very much!     Visitor Comments...
