Picture of the day - August 23, 2008
"Manistee River Sunset"

I'm not sure whether it's because of the the spectacular Michigan scenery or the
amazing photography skills of Mr. Brandon Barch, but both of the
photos that he has submitted for consideration as "Pictures of the
Day" have been nothing short of breathtaking!
Back in April Brandon
submitted
a
beautiful picture of the sun setting over
Lake Michigan, and
today he treats us to the gorgeous scene featured above. Here are a few
words from him about the image:
"This is the north pier light at the mouth of the
Manistee River
being
silhouetted by the setting sun on August 20, 2008 at 8:40pm.
Fishing
from the pier is a popular activity this time of year. This
was taken
at 400mm with the Canon 100-400mm zoom lens." --Brandon
Barch
