"Misty morning in Alaska"

When most people think of the great state of Alaska, images
of stark, snowy landscapes usually come to mind. And to be sure, the
"Last Frontier" certainly has more than its fair share of them
throughout her long, frigid winters. But as today's picture clearly
demonstrates, this amazing place also has plenty of greenery to be
enjoyed during the summer months.
Photographer Sharon Brucker captured this beautiful image of the
Alaska countryside on a mild July day while enjoying an amazing
train ride between the towns of Telkeetna and Whittier. Here are the
camera and settings she used:
Camera: Nikon E5700
Focal length: 14mm
Shutter speed: 1/148 second
Aperture: f/4.4
ISO: 100

Like my native Canada, Alaska has literally millions of square miles
of astounding scenery like this. In this gorgeous picture the
photographer has managed to capture the very essence of the beauty
that we up north are blessed to enjoy on a day-to-day basis. Yes,
the winters are hard. But I for one wouldn't want to live anywhere
else.

Today's image captures the beauty of untamed wilderness perfectly.
The mist helps heighten the mystery of the moment and leaves the
viewer wondering what might be just out of sight in the shrouded
forest. Great shot Ms. Brucker!
