"Pensive Mockingbird"

Photo courtesy of Bill Perry. (Click on the photo for a larger view)
Today's picture features a very pensive-looking mockingbird. The
mockingbird is the "state bird" of the great state of Texas (and
several other states as well), and photographer Bill Perry did an
excellent job at photographing this one - apparently during a moment
of deep reflection! Actually, Mr. Perry says the fowl was sitting on
a fence singing a song when this picture was taken, but it does look
quite lost in thought nonetheless.
Here are the camera and settings used to capture this image:
Camera: Nikon D300
Lens: Tamron 200-400mm
Focal length: 400mm
Exposure: 1/500 second
Aperture: f/5.6
Shooting mode: Aperture Priority
ISO: 500

Wow, this is a great shot of one of the most beautiful birds you'll
ever see. And by the way, the Mockingbird is our "state bird" as
well (Tennessee).
