Mom "Signing" One Of Her Hand-Made Quilts

Out of necessity, my mom learned how to "quilt" as a youngster, and
although it started out as a chore she quickly fell in love with the
"hobby" of quilting. This amazing woman has always had a very active
creative side, and over the years she has used her marvelous sewing
skills to make everything from items of clothing to craft items of
all sorts. But above all else, her passion is turning small scraps
of colored "rags" into gorgeous quilts that are nothing less than
works of art.
Now that she is approaching 80 years of age, virtually everyone in
our large extended family is longing for one of her hand-made quilts
to hang on the wall or tuck safely away as a keepsake and monument
to her life and endless love. And she is happy to oblige by
turning out one masterpiece after another on more or less a weekly
basis.
Mom has skillfully hand-crafted so many quilts in her busy lifetime
that only God Himself has the ability to keep track of them all, but
only recently did she begin "signing" her creations by embroidering
the words "Made by Mildred Rouse" on them. Today's picture shows my
wonderful mom hard at work, finally taking credit for some of the
finest craftsmanship I have ever seen.
Cheria and I both love you mom, more than you will ever know. The
beautiful masterpiece you lovingly made just for us is still hanging
prominently on our wall, and it'll be hanging there at least until
after the three of us have met up with each other in heaven.
