Picture of the day -
January 10, 2008 Mount McKinley

Photo courtesy of Alan W. Berry.
Today's picture features a rare glimpse at the peak of Alaska's
Mount McKinley, the highest mountain on the continent of
North America.
This beautiful photograph was taken by photographer Alan W. Berry,
and here a few words from him about the image:
"This is Alaska's Mt. McKinley (also known as Denali), the tallest
mountain on the North American continent at 20,320 feet.
The
picture was taken on the George Parks Highway in the summer
of 2007.
McKinley is seldom seen because it creates it's own
weather and is
covered in clouds most of the time."
--Alan W. Berry
The state of Alaska boasts some of the world's most amazing scenery,
and some of the most awe-inspiring views of all can be found in
Denali National
Park. What a wonderful place to visit!
