A snowy day at Mourne Park

Richard G. Browne.
Today's picture features a gorgeous wintry scene at Mourne Park,
one of the most beautiful places in all of the
United Kingdom.
Photographer Richard G. Browne did an outstanding job balancing the
exposure of the white snow against that of the dark green
vegetation, and the silky-smooth appearance of the flowing water is
simply perfect!
The following is Mr. Browne's story behind his stunning image:
"This photo was taken the morning after a fall of snow, which is
rare in
Northern Ireland. The scene is taken from a ford in the
River Whitewater which runs through Mourne Park near Kilkeel.
The
park is privately owned and was a USAAF Airbase during WWII,
flying
A20 Havoc bombers from nearby Greencastle Aerodrome.
Woodcarvings on
the trees can still be seen bearing the dates
from the U.S.
servicemen.
The scene attracted me because of the stillness of the water,
the
small falls and the snow covered rocks in the foreground.
The photo
was taken with a Canon EOS 40D Digital SLR equipped
with a Sigma
17-70mm F/2.8 Lens w/ polarizing filter. The
camera was set for a 2
second exposure at f/16 and ISO 100."
