Misty view of Mt. Hood

(Click on the photo for a larger view)
It's towering height of 11,249 feet makes Mt. Hood the
tallest peak in the state of Oregon, and it's unsurpassed natural
beauty makes this true icon of the American Northwest a favorite of
photographers from all around the world.
Today's picture features a striking image of Mt. Hood that was
captured from the far side of a misty Trillium Lake (the
photographer wishes to remain anonymous). Typical "lake" shots
feature Hood's snowcapped peak reflecting in the calm waters below,
but in this one the mist rising from the lake make for a rather
unique, and quite beautiful scene in it's own right.
The camera and settings used to capture this image:
Camera: Sony DSC-H5
Focal length: 8mm
Shutter speed: 1/100 second
Aperture: f/5.6
ISO: 125

Great job on this one. I love how the silhouettes of the tree
branches frame the shot. Great concept and superb implementation!

I took virtually this same shot when I visited Mount Hood back in
July 2004, but this one turned out much better than mine. Kudos to
the photographer for a job well done.

Today’s photo is very pretty!! I really like the steam coming off of
the water and the use of the trees and branches as a frame. Who ever
took this photo did a very nice job with it!!
