Mount Rainier & Reflection Lake

Beautiful photo of Mt Rainier and Reflection Lake.

I could go on and on about this stunning image of Mt. Rainier, but photographer Winston Rockwell does a much better job describing it than I ever could. Here is his story behind the photo:
"Mt. Rainier is the most dominant geographical landmark in the
state of Washington. At 14,410 feet, it's one of the tallest peaks
in the continental U.S. It is also the most massive, with its broad,
    hulking flanks.

Rainier is an active stratovolcano, and because of its proximity to
densely populated urban areas, it's considered among the most
dangerous in the world - not because an eruption is likely, but
because of the potential for death and destruction if it ever does
    let go.

But on a peaceful morning in late summer, just after sunrise, with
clear blue skies and mist slowly rising from the clear, still water of
the aptly named Reflection Lake, one can easily forget the immense
power and the potential menace lurking just beneath those snow-
capped ridges. This spot is popular with tourists and - needless to
say! - photographers, with hundreds of visitors every weekend
stopping to gaze in awe at the majestic peak and its reflection in
    the calm water.

Mt. Rainier is in the middle of a huge national park, so this
spectacular view is protected for posterity... unless, of course,
the mountain does erupt, and then it's likely this lovely lake would
    simply cease to exist.

This photo was taken with a Canon 40D and Tamron SP17-35 lens
at 17mm, using a graduated ND4 filter. This is a composite image
made from 3 bracketed exposures at +1/0/-1, in manual mode,
with nominal value set at 1/15 sec @ f/13, and processed using
    Photomatix Pro."
