Picture of the day -
March 13, 2007 "Nurses"

Today's picture features a couple of folks the likes of which we
tend to take for granted all too often. Day in and day out, they're there when we
need them to lend a helping hand during medical emergencies and
times of personal suffering. They work long hours in very stressful
situations and they often have to deal with less than pleasant
"customers". If it weren't for nurses, the world's hospitals and
doctors' offices would be virtually useless.
The photo above was taken by Mr. Tommy Cooper, and here is his story
behind the image:
"These are some of our OR nurses at the hospital I work at. I do
not
work in the OR, but they know I love taking pictures so the OR
staff
asked me to take some pictures of the them doing their jobs.
I
thought it would be neat if I would lay under the operating table
and get some shots of the nurses looking down over me getting
ready
for surgery. This was one of the shots that they liked. The
photo
went over so well they used it for one of the hospital bill-
boards.
Whenever the hospital has events, I try to make sure my
camera is
always by my side. You never know what might happen
and you are
there to capture it."
