A gorgeous ocean sunrise

Donny Reed.
Today's picture features a spectacular ocean sunrise which was captured in all
its glory by photographer Donny Reed last December 31 off of Ocean
City, MD. Using just the right combination of camera settings (see
below) and a Graduated 1.2 Neutral Density filter, he was able to
capture the amazing scene pretty much the way God had presented it
to him!
Due to the direction of the earth's rotation, ocean sunrises occur
on North America's eastern coast while ocean sunsets take place on
the west coast. And while both of them are quite striking in their
beauty and serenity, there is something about a sunrise that sets it
apart from all other scenes in nature...
When we see the sun begin its slow climb over the eastern horizon,
we know that God has blessed us with yet another day of life on this
wondrous planet, a fact that we all too often take for granted and
neglect to thank Him for as we live our busy lives. But still He
gives them to us, one by one, until He decides it's time to call us
home.
Mr. Reed is an exceptional photographer, and you'll find many more
of his outstanding photos in
his SmugMug
gallery.
