Spectacular sunset over an Oklahoma cornfield

The typical sunset photo features the evening sun shimmering across
the water at some exotic vacation paradise, but you can find a
gorgeous sunset virtually anywhere you happen to be on the face of
the globe. For example, you might not think of an Oklahoma cornfield
as a very pretty place, but as you can see in today's picture the
setting sun can transform a usually boring scene into a
picture-postcard setting.
What actually makes a sunset vista so pretty is the interaction
between the setting sun and the sky. When the sun is low on the
horizon, the atmosphere filters out much of the light with shorter
wavelengths leaving primarily the orange and red rays to light up
the horizon - and a few clouds here and there make it all the
better!
So the next time you find yourself enjoying the beauty of a
spectacular sunset, remember that our glorious Creator blessed us
all with the ability to enjoy His daily masterpieces... even if
we happen to live thousands of miles from the nearest beach.
