Today's picture features a magnificent country scene that was beautifully
captured by Gary McNurlen, an amateur photographer from Boulder,
Colorado. The following is his story behind the image:
"The photograph was taken in early June of 2008 in the
Paradise
Valley of South Western Montana about 20 miles north of the
northern
entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The time was
early evening,
around 8:30 PM, just before sunset at the tail end
of a very large
thunderstorm. The clouds were just beginning to
break up and a sliver
of sunlight was hitting the mountains to the
north. The Yellowstone
River is shown in the left of the shot."
