Sunset At Pismo Beach

Judging by the name you would expect to find a popular beach in the area, and there are indeed several miles of golden sand beaches just waiting to satisfy your desire for some seaside fun. But there is a lot more to Pismo Beach than just the beach... The Pismo Beach area offers its visitors plenty of opportunities for relaxation and adventure. In addition to typical beach resort activities such as swimming, surfing and scuba diving, there are also numerous facilities for golfing, biking, hiking, bowling and many more outdoor activities. And as today's picture demonstrates, Pismo Beach also offers some of the most spectacular scenery you'll find anywhere on the planet. Photographer Philip Klock took this stunning photograph of a beautiful Pismo Beach sunset. Here is his story behind the image: "This photo was taken at Pismo Beach, California. I was there for about an hour, just taking pictures of the pier. As the sun started to get lower in the sky, I began to look for interesting angles that would capture the pier, the sunset, and the reflections in the wet sand. I snapped a couple shots, then fiddled with the camera to check for proper metering and white balance. As I bent back over to look through the viewfinder, I spotted two surfers walking back towards shore. I quickly recomposed the scene, and waited patiently for them to be in the "perfect" position. I then snapped the shutter - and this is the result."
