Today's picture by photographer Paul Sparks features a gorgeous
mountain landscape from the Lake District of northwest England, a
region dotted with lakes and mountains which together make for some
of the most scenic views on the planet. Here are a few words from
Mr. Sparks about the image:
"This picture was taken by Crummock Water in the Lake District
of the United Kingdom.
The path of sand stone has been worn away
with many walkers hooves
creating a reddish effect. The stream
has just come from a waterfall
called Scale Force. Most people
photograph the waterfall, but I
thought the opposite direction
looked far more inviting."
