The 2007 Rosedale Relay Gospel Singing
Yesterday evening the Rosedale Baptist
Relay For Life team hosted their annual Rosedale Relay Gospel
Singing, and as always it was a wonderful night of great Gospel
music, Christian fellowship, and touching tributes to loved ones who
have either lost their battle with cancer or beat the odds to become
a survivor. The event had two very important purposes: To lift the
name of our precious Lord in song and raise much-needed funds for
cancer research.
Host Joe Owens thanked everyone for coming out, and then proceeded
to explain the mission of Relay For Life and why it is so important
to help raise the funds necessary to find a cure for all forms of
cancer, once and for all. Our God is a merciful God, and all healing
comes from Him alone, but He expects us to do our part in helping
fight cancer and other dreaded diseases. That's why the
American Cancer
Society and the numerous Relay For Life volunteers across the
country do what they do. |

The
Joyful Noise Trio kicked off the musical portion of the
evening's festivities by singing several
wonderful old hymns. Art, Wanda and Jim have been singing together
for some time now, and they're always happy to help out at benefit
events such as this one. |

Next up was
Gospel Grass,
a fine group of singers and musicians whose unique style of
Bluegrass-Gospel music is almost as powerful as their testimonies.
Cheria and I have had the opportunity to see and hear Gospel Grass
perform live on many occasions and they always leave the audience
believing that they truly love the Lord and enjoy singing His
praises. |

The
Mountain Valley Boys are another fine Bluegrass-Gospel group
that Cheria and I get to see and hear quite often. These talented
young men really know how to pick and sing and they obviously love
helping spread the all-important message of Jesus Christ through
their music and testimonies. |

Greg Sanders capped off the evening's music by singing several songs
of praise and inspiration while precious photographs of many loved
ones who have been stricken with cancer were displayed on a large
screen. Greg is a wonderful singer, and his music was the perfect
accompaniment to such a moving tribute. |

Cheria and I had a wonderful time at our first Rosedale Relay
Gospel Singing and we definitely plan to come back again next
year. The Rosedale Baptist Relay For Life needs your help in
funding the research needed in order to stamp out the horrible
disease of cancer. But remember, the most important "cure" of all is
accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour. Please
feel free to
