Picture of the Day - June 29, 2009
Remember Winter?

Those of us north of the equator will be heading into the hottest
part of the summer before long, and even though June hasn't yet made
way for July the daytime temps here in southwestern Virginia are
already topping out at around 90 degrees Fahrenheit. With that in
mind, I thought it might be a good time to take a look back on what
many of us had to endure over the winter. Think of it as sort of a
"reality check" for those times when we'll inevitably be complaining
about the "oppressive heat" in the coming days and weeks.
Remember when massive ice storms and below-freezing temps dominated
the nightly newscasts for several days back in the winter? Well here
is a little reminder just in case you have already forgotten. There
is a certain beauty to be found in almost any kind of weather scene,
and God has a real knack for painting masterpieces for us all to
enjoy, even during the roughest of times. Enjoy!

Good one Rick. Thank you Gordon and Ron for your kind comments about
me under yesterday's picture. I thought only Rick and Cheria knew I
had to have my photo-fix daily. I so enjoy all your efforts. They
are wonderful.
