"Renewal"

Rick Rouse.
Yesterday morning
Cheria and I were driving down U.S. Highway 58
between Abingdon and Damascus, Virginia when we noticed the sea of
yellow flowers surrounding this large, long-abandoned farmhouse. We
have passed this scene countless times over the years, but neither
of us had ever seen it look quite like this.
Springtime has a way of making dull and often depressing sights look
alive and vibrant, and although this old house has surely seen its
last human inhabitant the beautiful spring flowers in the field
surrounding it make it look a bit more inviting than it has looked
in a long, long time.
Springtime is my favorite time of the year. It is a time of renewal
when the drab colors of winter are quietly painted over by the
unseen hand of our Creator - the one who spoke the world and
everything in it into existence so many years ago. God gave each of
us life, and every spring he puts a "fresh coat of paint" on our
wonderful world so that we can enjoy it all the more.

I have long wanted to go through this house. I love old houses and
old barns.

Great job with today’s picture Rick!! I love all the colors and the
sharpness. I wonder what those walls would have to say if they could
talk. Very nice!
