Picture of the day -
May 8, 2007 "Rhododendron"

Every spring, God sends plenty of flower blossoms to beautify our
world and lift our spirits after a long winter. Thanks to His
infinite wisdom and love, He has provided flowers of all colors,
shapes and sizes for us to enjoy as we struggle with the daily
grind. After all, He understands that we humans often have likes and
tastes that are quite different from those of our neighbor's, and as
a loving God He wants all of His children to be happy and enjoy
their lives.
Today's picture features one of my personal favorites: a glorious
rhododendron blossom, still wet after a refreshing spring rain!
Rhododendrons are quite popular here in the Mountain Empire, and
you'll find them adorning yards on virtually every street and
country backroad. As in all things, tastes in flowers vary, but it
seems that everyone is in love with the rhododendron!
Of course there are many other varieties of spectacular flowers that
burst into bloom at various stages of spring and summer, and I'll be
featuring some of them here as I run across them. But it's hard to
beat a rhododendron covered with hundreds of softball-sized blossoms
that catch the eye as you drive by.
