Florida has long been a favorite wintertime destination for folks who have drawn weary of the cold, snow and frigid temperatures of the season, and with beautiful scenes like this awaiting them in the Sunshine State it's no wonder that so many pack up a suitcase or two and head south for a few days of rest and relaxation. Photographer Thomas Pate captured this image of a gorgeous sunset on the sandy beach of J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge at Sanibel Island, Florida.
