Bridge over the Severn Estuary

Photo and narrative by

A work colleague and I had been photographing the Severn Bridge
near Bristol in the UK from a different location earlier that
evening, attempting to capture a great sunset. Once the sun had gone
down, we decided to head to this particular spot, which is a viewing
platform for the bridge and try to obtain some light trails of
vehicles passing across this magnificent bridge heading for Wales.
After we had set up, we noticed how late the time was and quickly
fired off some shots before heading our separate ways home. I only
managed to snap three shots, and it was only when I had downloaded
them onto the computer that I realized I had a keeper, even if I say
so myself! I Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
The camera and settings to capture this image:
Camera: Canon EOS 40D
Lens: Sigma 10-20mm
Aperture: f/16
Exposure time: 100 seconds
Shooting mode: Manual exposure plus cable release
