"Sharp Top" and the Peaks of Otter

Photo courtesy of Glen Rouse. The Peaks of Otter near Bedford, Virginia consist of three scenic mountain peaks: Sharp Top, Flat Top and Harkening Hill. These triple peaks and the area surrounding them have been visited by humans for thousands of years. Native Americans originally came in search of food, but today most people come for the scenic beauty and the wonderful recreational opportunities provided by the Blue Ridge Parkway and the amazing mountains from which the famous highway took its name. My brother Glen and his wonderful wife Tonnie recently visited the town of Bedford and the Peaks of Otter, and they brought back a number of outstanding images from the trip - one of which is today's picture.
