Is This The World's Largest Shopping Cart?

Probably not, but it is by far the largest one I have ever seen! This
gigantic motorized shopping cart is quite an impressive sight, and
Food City rev's
it up and shows it off to the world every spring during
Food City 500 "race week".
Of course they roll it out at other times as well...
During last
night's annual Christmas Parade in Abingdon, Virginia, "kids" of all
ages lined both sides of Main Street, watching and waiting in the
bitter cold as a seemingly endless line of fire trucks, police cars,
ambulances, floats, clowns and marching bands paraded by. Candy was
flying through the air as gleeful children with eyes as wide as
silver dollars scurried around to snatch it up as it hit the ground.
All of those bright, flashing lights and screaming sirens were very
impressive indeed, but that monstrous shopping cart really got the
kids stirred up - just think how much candy, cake, ice cream and
toys that thing would hold! But last night it was used simply as a carriage
for Miss Food City as she greeted her well-wishers. The treats would
have to wait until another time.
