Picture of the day - February 7, 2008

Skydivin' Amy

Photo courtesy of Michael Raiz. Regular viewers of the "Picture of the Day" know that our daughter Amy loves to strap on her parachute and jump out of not-so-perfectly-good airplanes. Well, as you can see in today's picture she was at it yet again this past weekend. This photo shows Amy (on the right) and her skydivin' friend Andrea monkeyin' around as they freefall through the sky over the Chester County, SC countryside. Cheria and I would be perfectly happy if she chose another pastime: counting stars on cloudy nights, whitewater rafting in Death Valley, snow skiing in Fort Lauderdale... most anything would do really, as long as it didn't involve jumping out of airplanes! But apparently she has made up her mind: skydiving it is. And that's ok I suppose. After all, Amy is a highly intelligent adult who is apparently comfortable with the results of her own risk vs. reward analysis, and she is quite good at everything she does. But most important of all, she absolutely loves to jump, and that's really all that matters. Cheria and I want her to enjoy her life to the fullest, and if that means actin' a fool every weekend so be it. We love you Amy!     Visitor Comments...
