Picture of the day -
August 31, 2007 "Slo'-Smokin' Barbeque"

Since yesterday was the last day of our visit with Amy and Gene at
their new Rock Hill, South Carolina home, they decided that we
should take a few minutes to check out a piece of the local history
and culture: a great local restaurant with the catchy name of "Slo'-Smokin'
Barbeque"!
Slo' Smokin' is a wonderful place to visit for several reasons, not
the least of which is the great food. The menu offers a number of
sumptuous barbeque pork and chicken dishes that really tickle the
taste buds and bring out the traditional flavors of the south.
Whatever your taste in southern cookin', these friendly folks are
sure to whip up something that'll leave you longing for a lot more
of it!
And then there is the building itself, a large pre-civil war era
farmhouse with huge rooms and ornate hand-crafted wooden trim all
around. We were also told that this was the first house in York
County to have electricity installed. And to add a little extra
character, the walls and shelves are adorned with precious sports
memorabilia including photos of the owner with a number of sports
icons as well as a ticket to the very first Super Bowl...signed by
football legend Bart Starr himself!
Although we were only there for a short while, Cheria, Gene and I
really enjoyed our visit to Slo'-Smokin' Barbeque. If you would like
to check it out for yourself, you'll find this amazing place in Rock
Hill at 4821 Old York Road. You can also call 803-325-1066 to have
them cater your special event in the Rock Hill area.
