"Smoky California Sunrise"

The state of California has recently been under assault from a
series of very large and extremely devastating wildfires, and
although the loss of life could have been a lot greater, thousands of
people lost their homes, businesses and possessions. As always, it
was sad watching the news reports of countless families returning
home only to find a pile of smoldering ashes awaiting them.
But here in America, hope springs eternal. While many of those lost
possessions like precious family heirlooms and photographs can never
be replaced, most of the material things can, and will be.
Hopefully, with the help of the insurance companies and the
never-ending grace of God, our friends and neighbors from the Golden
State will soon be back on their feet and living their
normal lives - which brings us to today's picture...
Photographer Tyler Lewis Pebley took this eerily beautiful
photograph of the sun rising through the smoke of the California
wildfires. This beautiful sunrise marks the dawning of a new day, a
fresh opportunity for those who lost virtually everything to start
rebuilding their lives after being thrown one of life's most wicked
curveballs. The following are a few words from Mr. Pebley about his
beautiful
image:
"I took this picture about 10 miles east of Temecula, California.
Since this was taken in the wake of the wildfires, the sky was
producing great
colors during the morning sunrises. I took this
maybe 20-30 minutes
after sunrise. This was taken at some
custom home lots that were
built to be ranches but they haven't
been built on yet, but the
fences were welded and put up about
a year ago. The shot was taken
with a Canon EOS 40D equipped
with a Sigma 10-20mm ultra-wide angle
lens." --Tyler Lewis Pebley
Our thoughts and prayers go out to our friends and neighbors who were affected by those
terrible fires. May God bless you greatly in the days and weeks to come.
