"Snow and fall colors"

Here in the Mountain Empire region of southwestern Virginia and
upper-east Tennessee, most of this fall's colorful leaves have
already fallen to the ground as if to make way for the white of
winter's snowfalls. But in today's picture photographer Denise
Boling has captured a bit of both in the same beautiful scene. The
following
is her story behind the image:
"A couple of weeks ago, we got a slight dusting of snow here in
Bristol while the leaves were still on the trees. Since we don't get
much snow down in the low lying areas, I headed up U.S. Highway
421
to the top of the mountain. On the way up I shot several
pictures
trying to capture the contrast between the changing
leaves and the
snow flurries. This was taken at the 34 mile marker
on the way up.
Although I love the picture, it doesn't do justice to the sights I
saw in person. The view as I drove up showed so much more in
the
contrast of the snow and the reds, golds, oranges and greens
of the
leaves. God has a way of making beauty for our eyes to
behold in
times we least expect it." --Denise Boling

What a pretty scene. Being a transplanted Colorado native who now
lives in the Sunshine State, scenes like this sure bring back a lot
of memories.

Just enough snow to make the leaves stand out. I love it! Great job

Mr. Rouse,
I would like to thank you for publishing Denise's picture. She is my
little sister and I am very proud that she is sharing her talent. I
live in the Raleigh area and don't get to see many of scenes like
these live. Denise certainly has an incredible eye and I appreciate
you having this outlet that allows her to share that eye.

Very nice Capture Denise. The colors are beautiful and the dusting
of snow adds to the spectacular scene! God’s paintbrush is the
best!! Thanks for sharing this scene with all of us!

A stunning shot! Great exposure...the mist and snow really bring out
those fantastic fall colors. The bend in the road works well to
really draw the viewer in as well.

I may be a little partial- but my sister is truly amazing. She has
an amazing ability to see and capture the beauty around us that we
so often miss in the hustle and bustle of our lives. I'm thrilled
that ya'll are allowing the world to see what a gift she has.
