"Just splashing around"

Just like most every other little boy on the face of the planet, the
young lad in today's picture appears to be having a ball while
splashing around in a mud puddle. Much to the chagrin of the moms of
the world, these pools of nasty brown water just seem to draw
youngsters to them like magnets with an irresistible force that
overcomes the most dire warnings and threats of punishment.
Mud puddles are among God's greatest little gifts, and they only
show up after a good, hard rain. They say "April showers bring May
flowers", but they also bring a ton of joy to everyone who is young
enough to really appreciate them!
I used to come home so muddy that Mom would make me undress on the
back porch and jump straight into the tub. But unlike most mothers
she didn't mind us playing in the water so much. She just wanted for
us to be happy, and we were - especially in the spring when the mud
squished up between our toes!

That kid could be me or anyone of my brothers (minus the raincoat
and shoes)! We sure did love an old mudhole to play in. Fun, Free,
non-toxic (unless you ate too much) and capable of making a
bewildering variety of pies, mud balls. It was just good, "clean"
fun!
