Today's picture features
Steptoe Butte, one of the most beautiful and intriguing
geological formations in the Pacific Northwest. Photographer Ron
Trees has captured some pretty amazing images over the years, and a
number of them have been published as "Pictures of the Day". I
really like this one, and here is Mr. Trees to tell us a little about it:
"We recently took a day trip to Steptoe Butte in the heat of the
Palouse. This is wheat county and for as far as you can see are
wheat fields. The view from up on top is very much worth the
drive
which is about 1 hr from Spokane, WA. It has been since
the early
1980’s since I was last on this mountain. I have wanted
to go back
for a while now as it seems to be a very popular place
for
photography buffs. The rolling hills go on and on for as far as
the
eye can see. When you get the light right, it is one of the
most
beautiful sites you will ever witness. This is my take on
recording
that light. I took the picture, but our Heavenly Father
painted the
scene. I hope you like it." --Ron Trees Visitor Comments...
