Stockholm, Sweden on a pleasant summer night

Rickard Fredholm.
This time of year
Stockholm is usually covered with snow and ice, but today's
picture takes us back to a pleasant evening last summer when the
Swedish capitol was all aglow with colorful reflections shimmering
off of the calm, cool waters of the riverfront. Right about now I'll
bet our friends over there would love to have a night or two like
this one to give them a short respite from the frigid temperatures
brought on by their rather high northern latitude!
This beautiful picture was taken by photographer Rickard Fredholm,
and the following is his story behind the image:
"I took this photograph in the summer of 2007 when my girlfriend
and
I had our vacation in Stockholm, the capitol city of
Sweden. The photo
was taken from the bridge Centralbron and the
buildings are a part of
Södermalm, the old section of Stockholm. In
the early days this was
the home for the most poor of our citizens,
but now it is one of the
most attractive places in which to live.
There are many bars and
restaurants here which characterize Södermalm." --Rickard Fredholm
You will find many more of Mr. Fredholm's beautiful photographs
in his gallery.

It is wonderful to see such a beautiful photo of my home city on
your site. I visit every day and was hoping to see my homeland
featured on there. Thanks
