Summertime in Alaska

Tim Herbert.
Our northernmost state can be quite frigid and unforgiving in the
wintertime, but during its short summer the Alaskan landscape comes
alive with color that strikes an exquisite contrast with the
snow-covered mountains and glaciers in the distance. It takes a
hardy soul indeed to live so close to the top of the world, but many
do - and they like it just fine. And with scenes like this, it's easy
to see why.
Photographer Tim Herbert spent almost two weeks in Alaska in June,
and this is just one of the stunning images he managed to come away
with. You can enjoy many more of them by
visiting his
gallery.
