Suzy takes the stage at the Carter Fold

A quick glance at today's picture might lead you to believe that our
good friend Suzy spent some time entertaining the crowd at the
Carter
Family Fold last Saturday night, but as it turns out she was
actually doing a "mic check". But who knows, after seeing this photo
she just might feel inspired to sing a song or two the next time
around!
As anyone who knows her would tell you,
Suzy is a very special young lady. In addition to being one of the
sweetest gals on the planet, she is also a tireless worker who
absolutely loves helping promote the wonderful Bluegrass and
Old-Time music that our region is so famous for. Between
volunteering at the
Mountain Music Museum, the
Pickin' Porch
and the Carter Fold, she probably spends at least half of her waking
hours helping keep traditional mountain music alive and growing.
Suzy will probably shoot me for making this photo the "Picture of the
Day", but chances are I'll survive and live to photograph her again
next time - and maybe then she'll be entertaining the audience for real!
