The Tennessee River is one of the great rivers of North
America. Long before European settlers came to the new world, Native
Americans of the eastern United States were already using the waters
of the Tennessee as a primary means of transportation. Today this
grand river is used for a number of activities including
transportation, electric power generation and recreation.
Today's picture features a wonderful Tennessee River sunset. Here
are a few words from photographer Tammy Sullivan about the picture:
"I took this photo one Friday evening while doing one of our
favorite
past times, boating on the Tennessee river in Soddy Daisy,
TN. We
were heading toward our dock when I saw how the sunset lined
up
with the buoy marker with the birds nesting on top."

Great picture. Congratulations on getting it published today. I
think the driver of the boat who so accurately positioned the boat
for this incredible composition should at least get an honorable
mention.
