Picture of the day - November 27, 2008
Tell me it's...ANYTHING but Thanksgiving!

Well, today is Thanksgiving, the one day of the year that
most turkey's wish we would all just skip. In fact, if they had
their way we would probably just skip right over the months of
November and December and jump right into the new year. But
unfortunately for our feathered friends, it is indeed Thanksgiving
Day, and countless turkeys will be adorning festive holiday dinner
tables all over the good ole USA sometime before the day draws to an
end.
For us humans, the occasion is a bit on the lighter side because it
means that most of us will be in the company of our families and
close friends as we enjoy what will quite possibly be the most
satisfying meal of the year. But let us not forget the reason we
celebrate Thanksgiving in the first place. We have set aside this
very special day as a time to give thanks to our wonderful Creator
for all of the blessings that He has given us throughout the years
and over the course of our lifetimes.
As we gather to eat that special meal later today, let us all take a
few moments to say a prayer of thanks to our Lord for giving us our
lives, our loved ones, and everything else that He has seen fit to
bless us with. Only then will we be prepared to really enjoy that
humongous turkey with all the trimmings and the fellowship we'll be
sharing with our most precious loved ones.
