Lightning is one of the most feared phenomena in nature, but it is
also one of the most beautiful. Here is photographer Jeremy Huse to
tell us about today's amazing picture:
"A thunderhead was coming from the west while I was at home
one
night around 2:10am. I grabbed the camera and tripod and
set up in
front of a pond hoping to capture some reflections of
the lightning
as well as the lightning itself. This shot was taken
with a Canon
EOS 50D, a 17-50mm lens at 50mm, f/5.6, ISO 100.
Exposure time was
127 seconds. The location of this shot was
just east of the small
town of Cassville, MO." --Jeremy Huse

Call me crazy, but I LOVE watching a good thunderstorm unfold. There
is nothing quite like a good lightning strike to remind one of the
power of the Creator. Wonderful job capturing such a long exposure
Mr. Huse.

Great capture, Mr. Huse. One of the wonderful things about long time
exposures of things like lightning and fireworks is you never know
what you might catch. You captured a real winner here, Jeremy,
thanks for sharing it with us.

Great shot of the storm Jeremy! I really appreciate your sharing the
data details. I guess I was surprised by how long the exposure times
really were in those type of photos. I'll have to try it on the next
storm. Thanks for sharing that cool storm photo!

I'll never see lightning the same way again.
