New York-New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas

Randy Ashley.
Las Vegas is known for doing things in a big way, and this nighttime
photograph of the world-famous
New
York-New York Hotel & Casino by photographer Randy Ashley
serves as an excellent example.
Vegas is a city of lights, and after the sun goes down all of those
lights cause a glow in the desert that can be seen from miles
around - and the "New York" sure does its part to help make the city
glow! The skyline of Vegas is a photographer's dream, so it's no
wonder that Mr. Ashley decided to turn his camera towards this
impressive display. The following is his story behind the image:
"I was visiting Vegas for the first time to compete in a Semi-Pro
Dodge Ball tournament. It was the first Semi-Pro competition
before
the following year's Pro Tournament. I was walking the
strip with my
good friend Derek (who I hold responsible for my
interest in
photography) and decided to set my Canon SD400
down and snap a shot
of New York-New York.
Camera settings were on Manual with a 1 second exposure.
I set a 2
second self-timer. No other data is available."
