Signs of autumn at Veterans Memorial Park

I stopped by Bristol, Virginia's Veterans Memorial Park last Friday afternoon, and as I looked around the place I couldn't help but notice how the trees were already beginning to show their beautiful fall colors. I guess it won't be long before all the green has been replaced by yellow, orange and brown, and before we know it the branches will be bare and the leaves will have transformed the ground into this year's edition of God's magnificent mosaic. It has been getting quite cool at night for a while now, and since yesterday was the first "official" day of autumn we can look for the days to begin cooling off somewhat as well. Fall is the time of year when our nation's farmers harvest the fruits of their summertime labors.
