"Textured Beach"

Ken Gillespie.
Nature and talented photographers have a way of working together to bring out the beauty in the most mundane
things, and today's picture of the sun going down over
Lake Winnipeg
offers a perfect example. I just love how the last rays of the
setting sun highlight the beautiful texture of the sculpted sand of
Victoria Beach, turning what is normally a pretty, yet fairly typical
waterfront view into a scene worthy of a spot on a museum wall.
Of course photographer Ken Gillespie had a little something to do
with creating such a stunning image. From the wonderful perspective
to the spot-on exposure, in my opinion there is nothing about this
photograph that isn't absolutely perfect. Here are a few words from
Mr. Gillespie about his magnificent handiwork:
"This image was shot at Victoria Beach, Manitoba, Canada on the
east side of Lake Winnipeg just before sunset on a cool fall night.
Lake Winnipeg is the tenth largest freshwater lake in the world,
and
it will soon freeze over at this location." --Ken Gillespie
