Macro image of a wasp

Photo courtesy of Ron E. Trees.
As we all know, scientists use microscopes to help them see things
that cannot easily be seen with the naked eye. Photographers have a
similar tool in the
macro lens. Shooting with a macro lens brings
out details in tiny objects that would otherwise remain hidden from
human view, often giving the subject a whole new look in the
process.
The photograph above is a macro shot of a wasp, a pesky insect that
most of us are all too familiar with. Photographer Ron Trees seems
to do everything he attempts extremely well, and he certainly did an
outstanding job bringing this little creature "up close and
personal". Here are a few words from him about the image:
"I was out this weekend in my wife’s garden. She has several
Dahlia
plants, and on one of them were some Wasps. I had my camera
with the macro lens so I took a few pictures, and this is one of
them.
I don’t know about you, but it kind of gives me the creeps."

Yeah Rick....It looks like it belongs on one of those crazy
outer-space planets you are always writing about that you would like
to travel to some day.
