Portrait of a whitetail doe

Whitetail deer are among God's most beautiful and graceful
creatures, and there are lots of them here in the southern
Appalachian Mountain region as well as much of the rest of the United States.
But these wonderful creatures move quickly when spooked, and getting
a good close-up photograph of one can be quite a task. But for
today's picture, photographer Jim Bougher managed to do just that. Here is his
story behind the image:
"I was taking a walk in the woods behind my house the other day
when I stopped to take a rest by a large tree. A couple of minutes
later I noticed this doe approaching. She stopped 15 feet from me
and stayed long enough for me to get a nice series of pictures.
This
is what I consider to be the best of the bunch." --Jim Bougher
