Windmill "Farming"

Here in the USA many of our farmers are finding it harder each and
every year to make a decent living by working their land and growing
the livestock and crops we all need in order to survive. Some have
found success by switching gears and growing things they have never
grown before, but others have made the painful decision to simply
get out of the farming business altogether.
Photographer Robert Schwarztrauber recently stumbled across one such
farm that not only "switched gears", it switched entire industries -
yet the property still remains a "farm" in a very real sense. Here
is Mr. Schwarztrauber with an explanation:
"Here's an unexpected photo opportunity that I ran across while
out in the country in search of fall color scenes. It seems the
farmers can make more planting one of these wind powered
generators
on their land than they can by planting and tending
crops! Looks
like these two were just the start. I saw foundations
for half a
dozen more being built. Or maybe you can just get
more juice out of
one of
these windmills cheaper than you can
trying to use corn for gasoline???
Didn't farmers used to grow food? Anyway...it made a pretty
picture.
I don't make the scenes, I just shoot 'em."
