"Winter in Southwestern Virginia"

We recently enjoyed the most beautiful snowfall we have had in these
parts in years, and as usual Cheria took a walk around our property
with her camera in hand, taking pictures of the lovely wintry scenes
that she encountered. She captured the gorgeous image featured above
while standing right beside our house.
I really liked how the wet snow clung to the tree branches,
stubbornly refusing to fall to the ground for several days after the
storm had finally moved on to points unknown. And if you look
closely just to the left of center in the picture you will see the
tip of the red roof that tops our neighbor Larry's
log
cabin.
Here in the Abingdon, Virginia area we have already had more
"winter" this season than we had in the last two or three seasons
combined. I'm not a big fan of cold weather, but I do love these
beautiful wintry scenes.

Except for the fence, this could have been taken in my back yard.

I too would love to see a snowfall like this in my neck of the
woods. Absolutely stunning.
