"Winter in the woods"

As one who loves winter, I jumped at the chance to leave the mild
temperatures of South Texas and visit my brother in Maine in
February. The air was crisp and cold and the ground was covered in
snow--just the way I like it!
We went for a winter drive and a hike through the woods, giving me a
chance to capture some nice photos and some even better memories.
Family has always been extremely important to me so any opportunity
to spend time with my two younger brothers is a treat. This day was
especially enjoyable because I was able to celebrate my love for
animals also, watching my brother's Gordon Setter romp through the
Maine snow.
I shot this scene with my Nikon D80 and 18-55 kit lens, in Auto
mode: ISO 400, f/5.6, 1/320 second. I enhanced it with Topaz Adjust,
bringing out the red in the house and shrubs. It was just such a
peaceful image that, to me, captured the essence of winter in the
woods.

Brrrrrrrrrr. Thanks Lauren, you have given me a very good reminder
of what is headed our way. Although I do like your photo, I am not
sure I feel the same way about what is on the way!!
