Today's picture is a study of contrasts, and a magnificent sunset to
boot! The coastline of the Pacific Northwest is really nothing more
than mile after mile of stunning scenery, and photographer Ron Trees
captured this image to perfection. Here is Ron's story behind the
"While on vacation this summer, we spent a few days camping near
Brookings, Oregon on the Pacific Coast. We spent one evening on
coast and I tried to record the sunset that evening.
I love the
Oregon coast and we have not been there for a while.
The waves are
so relaxing to watch and it just a beautiful place to
be. I hope
that you can feel some relaxation in viewing this photo.
There is so
much hurry in our lives that we just need to take time
to slow down
and catch our breath. Other photos from this evening
can be found
here." --Ron Trees

Breathtaking! I have seen a couple of sunsets from this very place,
and they are truly awesome. Mr. Trees, I am a huge fan of your work.

I love the Oregon coast, and places like this are one reason why. As
Rick said, the Northwest coast offers some of the most stunning
coastal scenery in the country, and this image makes me wish I was
there right now, listening to the roar of the surf and the cries of
gulls... and those wonderful sunsets! Nice job, Ron!

I'm proud to call Georgia home and I wouldn't want to live anywhere
else, but if I did take a notion to go somewhere else it would
probably be the Pacific Northwest. The photos you guys publish on
TodaysPhoto.org are nothing short of amazing, and I'm sure that
having such gorgeous places to photograph in the first place has a
lot to do with it. Of course it helps to have some awesome
photographic skills as well, and Mr. Trees and Mr. Rockwell are
obviously the cream of the crop.

Scenes like this bring back fond memories of my childhood years back
in Maine. Thank you Mr. Rouse for providing such an amazing "venue"
for photographers from all over the world to share their little
corner of it with us. I've been visiting this site almost every
morning for over two years now, and during that time I've seen
photographs of places ranging from literally just down the road to
places so far away from me that I'll never get to see them any other
way. And Mr. Trees, thank YOU for spurring those wonderful childhood
memories of mine.

Certainly captured the mood on this one, Ron. I can imagine myself
watching the sunset and wondering how those magnificent boulders got
there. Great job.
